Oil Drilling Platform
An oil and gas company needed a management solution for a server room located out at sea on a ship-based oil drilling
platform. Due to the extremely high cost of onboard personnel, and the fact that there are strict limits to the number of
people on the ship due to safety regulations, it is impractical to have onsite IT support. Therefore, they required a remote IT
management solution so the drilling platform’s server room could be managed from two locations on shore.
